Christianshavn

This island has many cool hidden treasures and areas, so take your time to explore them. Here you'll find the old and beautiful Christianshavn with its cobblestone streets, colorful buildings and the charming houseboats by the canals.

Spend some time at the urban Refshaleøen which untill 1996 primarily was a place for machine factories. It still has a very industrial look and many of the new companies located here have taken great inspiration from, and used the old interior, which gives the area an unique and rustic vibe.

Enjoy a walk down the main shopping streets on Amagerbro - Amagerbrogade and Holmbladsgade. Here you’ll find great shops, vintage and second hand, independent cafes and eateries. You'll meet a lot of young people here because one of the big universities is located here as well as many dorms. Do yourself a favor and follow the hipsters and families on their Christinia bikes to Amager Beach Park – a real breathing space.

And don't forget to stop by the vibrant Islands Brygge. On a hot summer day it's so liberating to jump in the harbor at Islands Brygge. Danes meet up here for a picnic, BBQ and to take a swim - both summer and winter.
